PETS

My family that lives in Alaska have had the joy of "Lady" in their hearts and lives.  She was a beautiful black and white Australian Shepherd.  A very smart and loving dog that was especially good with children.  For a period of time my son would take her to school where he was a therapist and she became a good "therapist dog".  This week it was time to let her go, as Cancer was taking its toll.  My husband and I cried when we heard the news, as we loved Lady too and felt so sorry for her family who would no longer have her.  The following is my tribute to pets:
A good pet is love exemplified.  Love is their job.  Patiently waiting for the family to come home and jumping for joy with sounds of delight.  Loyalty is their name, for defending their loved ones is an instinctive reaction that comes without hesitation.  To be part of this unconditional love is to know a joy like none other.  A gift from God is a family pet.  A treasure to be treasured.  Their life is short compared to humans.  Sadness envelopes all who loved them when they depart for the unknown.  Their work is finished.  God chose them and gave them a special assignment to watch over their family, love them and to be by their side.  If scolded or forgotten they always forgive.  They know their mission on earth and will someday rest in a heavenly abode.
